Envy Phoenix 810-150qe
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I`ve had this pc for a year or two now and for a while now whenever the cpu gets to more than 10% in taskmanager the fan goes to around 5000 rpm according to speedfan, I think this is either the case fan or the processor fan but I dont know. I try putting it into Power Saver in Power plan it brings the fan to an ideal rpm but it lowers my proformance by about 1/5 which is unplayable. Is there anyway to make it so its like 50% when the fan kicks in or something.

Welcome to the HP Community @Firestar3836

I came across your message about the PC performance issue and wanted to pop in to help 🙂

Going through your post, I understand that the fan noise is high on your HP Envy Desktop. I’d like to know the following details to assist you better:

  1. Is the laptop overheating?
  2. Is your laptop shutting down by itself at any point?

Alternatively, perform a Windows update on your PC. Restart the PC once done. Then update the BIOS and the chipset drivers for this notebook.

Go to http://hp.care/2redfDa to download and update the BIOS and Chipset drivers.

Restart your PC and check for issue resolution.

If the issue persists, then try the steps listed here: http://hp.care/2pyXfYY

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Good luck 🙂
