Display size reduced after 8.1 upgrade on HP Pavilion with AMD Radeon HD 8470

[ Edited ]

The HP Pavilion Modelnr. 500-115ed /  D7F07EA#ABH  with the AMD Radeon HD 8470 screen adapter.  has been connected with a HDMI cable to a 22 inch monitor (LG22EN43).

After the upgrade to Windows 8.1 64 bit  (from the Windows 8 64 bit) OS only 20 inch of the display is beeing used.

Screen resolution: 1920 x 1080. (With 1680 x 1050  it displays on 22 inch again)

As directed by the HP helpdesk I have installed the latest display driver from the HP webpage.

Also the BIOS has been updated but both actions did not solve the problem.

Re: Display size reduced after 8.1 upgrade on HP Pavilion with AMD Radeon HD 8470

After instaling the AMD Catalyst software I could obtain access to the Catalyst Control Center.  Here it was possible to adjust the Underscan.

Now we have 1920 x 1080 on a 22 inch monitor.
