The HP software is requiring me to 1) have a sign on password & 2) change it periodically or my PC will be locked up. I do want or need this much outside control on my home PC. How can I turn this annoying requirement off? I now have 5 days before I have to change my password again!

Hi there @BeeDTee,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. I understand that you having an issue with a program requiring you to change your password regularly. I am happy to help with this.
What is the exact application asking this?
Are you having any other performance issues?
Have you tried creating another user account to see if that account has the same issue?
Has this password change issue been around since the start or is it a comparatively recent thing?
What is the frequency of password changes?
Please let me know.

What is the exact application asking this? There is a notice that slides out from the lower right Windows 10 desktop screen after I first log on.
Are you having any other performance issues? Just this past week my PC will not wake up after it has past 3 hours of inactivity. I have to power down and then reboot.
Have you tried creating another user account to see if that account has the same issue? No, I only have my Administrators account on this PC.
Has this password change issue been around since the start or is it a comparatively recent thing? This has only been a recent problem within the past 60 days. I did not have a password (blank) to begin with.
What is the frequency of password changes? This is only the second time I have received the message that my password will expire in xx days.
