Product: ProDesk Mini 400 G2
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Computer has an (M.2) SSD socket on the mainboard into which the system SSD drive is plugged.  There is a vacant 2.5 inch bay and a vacant SATA port.  I want add a 2.5 inch data SSD to the vacant bay and connect to the SATA port.  Will the system boot and automatically recognize the new drive as secondary ?

All sata drives use the same data and power connectors. If your motherboard and power supply support sata you'll be fine.

Thanks for response, but didn't clarify.  There are two onboard sata connections.  Will the motherboard recognize one (the M.2 socket) as the system drive and the other (SATA port) as a secondary data drive ?  Does the bios have to be reset ?  Is it really just plug and play ?

I did not find out that it would not work on this unit until I add the   2   750GB SATA's.

 

I looked for your BIOS simulator but could not find one.
