Downgrade from Windows 7 to Vista

I'm considering upgrading from Vista Home Premium (64bit), pre-installed on my Compaq Presario CQ5047UK to Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit) with the DVD supplied by HP.

I am concerned that, if I do that, some of my hardware might not work properly any more (notably my HP PSC 2510 All-in-one printer), and -- should this be the case -- I would probably want to downgrade again to Vista.

is that downgrade possible? And -- if yes -- how would I best go about it?

Thanks

Pesche

If you are still in Vista now, create some recovery disk's with the recovery manager. Those DVD's will be bootable, so what ever is on the hard drive will be deleted and formatted with the reinstallation of Vista.

 Use Sony Nonrewritable DVD's  DVD+R

You shouldn't have any problems with your printer, there are drivers for W7.

I agree with Haggis_Cat, shouldn't be  a problem since you are already running 64 bit Vista and most drivers that work for Vista work in 7.

As suggested, it is always best to make your Recovery Disk set first.

HP does not have Windows 7 drivers posted for the HP PSC 2510. You will have to use the Windows 7 driver.  If you are scanning, then your PSC needs to be connected via USB to get the Windows 7 scan driver.  If you are connected wireless, then there is a procedure using IE to connect to the printer to do a scan.

I think that the HP VISTA drivers are very slow to load.
