Hello,
I'm currently installing a Windows Server 2012 R2 on a Z420 workstation and looking for the device manager it said that some drivers for some peripherals are missing like for :
- System interrupt controler
- SAS controler
- PCI serial port
- PCI controler
I'm not sure about the drivers I have to take from HP support.
I know the selected OS version must be Windows 8.1 64 bits but I wonder which driver I must take
Appreciate any help
Best regards

Hi:
See if the chipset driver works for the System Interrupt Controller.
This package provides the Intel Patsburg Chipset Drivers for select Workstations models and operating systems. Routine Update
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp65501-66000/sp65961.exe
PCI Serial Port:
This package contains the latest Intel Management Engine Software for the supported Workstation models and operating systems, as well as utilities for updating and checking status.
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp72501-73000/sp72798.exe
SAS Controller:
This package contains the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Enterprise (RSTe) Drivers and Graphical User Interface (GUI) for serial ATA (SATA) RAID controllers in supported workstation models that are running a supported Microsoft Windows Operating System.
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp72001-72500/sp72212.exe
Try manually installing the drivers if the auto install method doesn't work.

Hi Paul,
Thank you very much for this quick answer but I had to wait until this morning to install the drivers on my server
Everything was working fine except for the SAS controler where it said that I have already a more recent version of RAID controler installed. Then I decide to not overwrite it and I will look deeper inside the configuration before taking a decision.
Once again, thank you for this quick, precise and suitable answer
Have a nice day
Best regards
Michel

You're very welcome, Michel.
The SAS controller you may need the driver for may be one of the other ones besides the Intel one.
The only way I will be able to figure out what SAS controller driver you need is for you to post the hardware ID for the SAS Controller that needs the driver.
To find the hardware ID, go to the device manager and click on the SAS Controller needing the driver.
Then click on the Details tab at the top of the SAS Controller window.
Now you will see a Property drop down list, and it will be set to Device Description.
Drop down on that list, and select the 3rd item (Hardware ID's).
Post the top string of characters that you see in the window.
