Envy 23 Touch Smart Making Loud Noises
11-02-2015 08:59 PM

Hi -
Lately, my HP Envy 23 Touch Smart has been making some loud noises while the computer is in use. However, when I physically touch the computer, the noise stops. When I release my hand, it starts all over again.
I'm using Windows 10 64-bit. The computer is almost 3 years old (not quite).
Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi there @cbauta
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. I understand that you are getting some excessive noise coming from your computer. I am happy to help with this. Please post the full product number for your computer. See the following, if you need help with that information.
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Can you tell from what part of the computer the noise is coming from? Since the noise stops when you are touching the computer it could be a general sound caused by a vibration. If it were a direct noise from one of the cooling fans, the noise would not go away from a simple touch. Please let me know, and I can proceed from there.

Thank you for your response, @Malygris1 and sorry for the late reply.
My product number is: C1A73AV#ABA
Although the noise is inconsistent, it seems to come from right behind the screen (from where "everything" is, I suppose - sorry I'm not the best with technical terms haha).
Thank you again.

Same with mine, however, don't believe it can be stopped by touching the computer. Seems like the CPU starts running faster...anything more I can tell you so you can provide a better reply?
