HP Deskjet 3632

Hi

My son has forgot the password to our HP Deskjet 3632.

Is there anyway to reset or retrieve?

Your help will be much appreciated

Paul

Hi @POH5,

Good Day. Thanks for posting your query in the HP community. I read the post regarding the printer’s  password issues. It will be a pleasure to assist you here.

Commendable diagnosis, superb troubleshooting and splendid description of the issue before posting. Hats off you on that score. 🙂

  • How is the printer connected?
  • Is it on a wireless network connected to a router?
  • Or is the printer connection a Wi-Fi direct connection?
  • Please let me know the operating system of the computer?

Please perform these steps:

Please restore network defaults on your printer. Then add the printer on the wireless network.

Please check this user guide link: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04649694  to restore the printer to network defaults. Please refer to page #74 on how to do it.

Then if the computer is a windows operating system, please perform these steps to uninstall the printer and then reinstall it.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers.

Later install the full feature printer software from this link: http://hp.com/drivers  please select the country, type the product# of the unit and follow the on-screen instructions. Please make sure that you select the correct operating system.

Also if the operating system is a Mac then, please reset the Mac printing system from this link: http://support.hp.com/in-en/product/hp-officejet-pro-8710-all-in-one-printer-series/7902014/document...

and then add the printer. There is an associated video for it.

  • Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. The trick is to remain patient, please.

Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great.

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.

Take care now and have a splendid week ahead.
