Unplug your PC and open it up. Read the label on the power supply (PSU).  What is the total wattage and the amperage on the 12+ volt bus?  The amount of 12+ volt amperage is important when selecting a video card.

How to Find the HP Model Number

HP ENVY 6055, HP Deskjet 1112
HP Envy 17", i7-8550u,16GB, 512GB NVMe, 4K screen, Windows 10 x64
Custom PC - Z390, i7-9700K, 32GB, dual 512 GB NVMe, dual 512 SSDs, 4K screen, OC'd to 5 Ghz, NVIDIA 2080TI 11GB

Model #: p6240f
Product #: NY550AA-ABA
From the PSU label, I have the following info..

LITEON Model # PS-5301-08HA   OUTPUT - 300W
Input 100-127V ~ /8A

Output +12V 13Amp max..

is this infomration enough..

Also I was looking at GeForce 9500GT 512MB DDR2 PCIe 2.0 x16 Graphics Card, will this work without upgrading power supply??

thanks

Hi,

On the link below are the specifications for your PC.

Specifications

The card you suggest ( 9500GT ) would work fine, however a better choice that will work well with your 300W Power Supply Unit is on the following link and is often recommended on this forum.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes,
