I bought this laptop a few years ago. Shortly after purchasing, it began to turn itself off and back on again. All I would see is the HP logo. I see this has been addressed many times and I’ve tried all the solutions. Still no luck. Service wouldn’t help me because it’s out of warranty. This is my last ditch attempt. If no resolution, then no HP for me ever again.

So in the past few weeks I

  • Disabled the automatic restart
  • Checked for failed hardware
  • Updated the Bios
  • Ran Support Assistant and updated drivers
  • Performed a system restore
  • Raised computer off surface of desk to reduce heat

It worked well for several days and I got excited that the problem was resolved. The poof! It shut down and restarted. Fifteen minutes later does the same thing again.

There are numerous reports of this problem all over the Internet. Something is wrong and you guys won’t admit to it. No more HP for me ever!
