HP 2009m monitor Ghosting or distorted text

HP Recommended

My monitor has developed this problem of distorted text.  It doesn't happen on the entire page, just certain sections.  Sometimes if I scroll up or down it will resolve and sometimes if I move the cursor over it it will resolve.  I have noticed it only happens while online (NOT dial-up).  It doesn't happen all the time on every page.  I have checked for updates and downloaded them all and no change.  Any ideas?  I have attached a screen shot.  You can see the distortion or ghosting in about the middle of the page all the way across.  Most of the text is clear but not that which is in the middle.

Your problem isn't the monitor or cable. it would be your GPU or GPU drivers. Try reinstalling your GPU driver, and if that doesn't work, then get a new GPU. (I recommend a Radeon HD 5450 if you aren't a gamer, and a Radeon RX 480 if you are one)
