HP Pavilion 23 AiO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

The computer was working great and my 12 month old son decided to press the power buttin on our APC battery backup. When my wife tried to reboot it went through the POST and then froze at the HP symbol. I did the hard drive test from the startup menu and it said there was an issue with the hard drive. I replaced the had drive and I got it to reload windows. It seemed to work fine for about 15 min and then I rebooted to do an update and it went back to freezing at the HP logo. I have reset the BIOS many times and I have tried everything that I can figure out. I am at a loss and to the point of just buying a new mother board.

As I understand the computer is powering on, however, it does not boot properly. Don't worry as I have a few steps to help you get through this concern,

Let's try these steps here:

Perform a Hard reset on the PC:

Many startup errors and other problems can be resolved by decreasing the amount of power stored in hardware components. Decreasing stored power is sometimes referred to as a "Hard Reset." Use the following steps to perform a hard reset on a computer:

  1. Turn off the computer completely; disconnect the power cord from the back of the computer.

  2. With the power off and the power cord disconnected, press the power button on the computer for 5 seconds. The power light indicator on or near the power button might turn on briefly but then go out.

  3. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the power.

Please follow the steps suggested in the guided troubleshooter, click here
