HP-5210 microphone is not working Windows 10

HP Recommended
HP-5210 Webcam/HP Pavilion h9
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP-5210 microphone is not working, the camera is working.

I followed the instructions in a previous post on this topic, but  was unable to locate the directory provided (windows.old)  in the resolution steps.  A system search for USBAUDIO.sys resulted in finding a few files one of which was in

C:\windows\winsxs\

C;\windows\system32\drivers\  and

C:\windows\system32\driverstore\.

I performed the upgrade to Windows10 late last year and haven't tried to use the web cam until now.

Would you please provide instructions on how to resolve this problem?

@cness21,

do you mean

  • HP Pavilion HPE: h9-1250t
  • Product number: B5A51AV

If so please make sure the microphone and speakers are properly connected to your computer.

  1. Open Speech Recognition by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Ease of Access, and then clicking Speech Recognition.

  2. Click Set up microphone.

  3. Follow the instructions in the wizard.

Test if working

if not, Check the device manager remove the web cam and restart the computer. it will re-add the web cam at start up.

Please keep me informed of how things went and I will gladly do all I can to help you.
