HP Compaq 6005 Pro CPU Upgrade

I am trying to upgrade the CPU in my HP 6005 Pro to a AMD Phenom II x6 1045T, and am getting a blank screen (no POST or anything, just fans and power lights turning on). Can you tell me if this processor should work? I know it's not in the official compatability list in the manual, but I figured that was simply outdated. I have the latest BIOS installed.

It is a socket AM3 processor running at 95W, and AMD lists it as compatible with my chipset, so I figured it should work.

In general, a processor typically does not work if it isn't in the supported list.  Business units work differently than consumer PCs due to having very different BIOS on the motherboard.

You may want to try the business support forums found here.
