HP EliteDesk 800G2 SFF
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have brand new HP EliteDesk 800G2 SFF with 8GB/Samsung SSD in Window 7 professional with SP1. It is connected via Displayport cables to 2 HP E242 EliteDisplays. After the PC goes into sleep mode, thats no way it can wake it up. I have to cold boot it back. The only option to go around is to set the power option to never sleep.

Also, once in a while, the displays will blink and go black for a few seconds and come back up. Then on the right bottom corner, a notification screen will appear and say the display driver is crushed or something.

Any one knows the fixes for these 2 issues? Please advise and Thx!

ps: I have tried installed the currect driver from HP as well as from Intel support but still in vain.

Hi there.  We have had a few similar issues with some of the 800g2s purchased within the last year for our school district.  If this issue hasn't been resolved I'd be happy to forward some of fixes we have applied to fix our "like" issues.  I just need a few items first.  Could you give me the specs of the computer?  Mother board model, and graphics hardware model at the very least.  Then please tell me what BIOS the system is currently running and what driver versions you have installed currently for the graphics hardware.  I can then do some cross referencing with our documented fixes and forward anything that may be applicable on to you to try.  Let me know!

Hi TLJP

Can you send your documented fixes over to me?  I am currently having issue where the display driver crashes. Tried updating driver from HP site and Intel's latest drivers for graphics driver but still having the issue. I have also changed the Video driver memory settings in BIOS from 32mb to 256mb and also ran a Microsoft Fixit and still having issues.

Any help would be great

Thanks 🙂

Hi;

I'm just having the same annoyin issue in my company with several desktops affected. Randomly happens a blink black screen and sometimes after few repeated ones graphics card crashes. Could you please share with me if you have any workaround that works?

Thanks so much,

One of the workarounds that we have had good luck with is using a DisplayPort to DVI cable (monoprice so they are cheap). On our 800G2 systems we haven't had any issues with video or lockups since.
