HP Envy 27-p041 m.2 SSD

HP ENVY 27-p041 AIO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have an HP ENVY 27-p041 27" Quad HD IPS Touchscreen All-in-One Desktop that I am trying to get the m.2 SSD to be recognized by the BIOS & subsquently the OS (Win 10 64-bit).

More information about the AIO can be found at the link below.  The specification states there is one M.2 Slot for SSD available for expansion.  I have a Transcend SATA III m.2 2280 128GB SSD that I've plugged into the open slot but it does not get recognized.  The other m.2 slot is already occupied by the wifi card.  I've highlighted the SSD in the image (lower left).  The Slot is 'Enabled' in the BIOS and storage options are set to AHCI.  Currently only the 'regular' HDD is recognized.  The BIOS is at rev vA0.10 which appears to be the latest.

The SSD does work because it gets recognized in the BIOS & OS of a different HP PC.  Any ideas how I can get this working?  Thanks!

Hi! @HL7, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand that M.2 SSD is not recognizing on your PC.

I checked the records and found the supported m.2 drive for your PC is  2.5" Samsung 850 evo - SSD M.2 SATA.

Please follow this thread from @banhien for more information: http://hp.care/2eyLAY9

Keep me posted!

Have a great day! 🙂

I think the HP Support Agent  @banhien misunderstood the question.  The Agent was referring to the standard 2.5" HDD while the customer k0stya2007 was referring to the m.2 SSD HDD slot.

Hi,

No, customer asks questions forTWO different machines. My previous reply was for HP Envy 24-n250ur, not this one which is HP envy 27-p041.

Regards.
