HP Velocity and Kemp Load Balancer

HP Recommended
HP Velocity

Hi, we tried to use the HP Velocity Software  (2.1) for our Thin Clients to connect to our Terminal Server Farm.

The Client is pre installed on our WBT's. (T610)

Now we installed the Server Software on our Terminal Farm which included a Session Broker and 3 Remote Session Hosts.

When we connect with RDP directly on one of our Servers, the Icon will go green and we see a protected Session.

But when we use the Load Balanced (Kemp) Alias, the Icon will stay blue on the Client. The only protected Session we can see, is one between Remote Session Host and the Session Broker.

Kemp Support advised to ask HP about the Velocity Software. Could be that there Load Balancer don't know how to handle the Package.

Is this Software supported through a Hardware Load Balancer?

Does we need to configure something special, so that this will work?

Are there any Admins using HP Velocity with a Hardware Load Balancer?

Any help is much appreciated

Thank you

Marcus

Hi Marcus, I appreciate it has been some time since you posted your question regarding possible negative interaction of load balancing and HP Velocity QoE. Did you get a resolution to your issue? I have to declare a commercial interest as jetNEXUS who I work for have just become a OEM partner with HP, delivering our ALB-X ADC / load balancer software on HPE hardware. I would be keen to assist and find out what parameters are required to ensure the load balancer remains 'transparent' in this scenario. I would suspect that server affinity will be required to ensure a client always connects to the same server that it makes initial contact with. Regards Cliff
