HP f2105 Wide Screen Monitor
Microsoft Windows Vista

I thought the on/off switch was bad on my HP f2105 Monitor until I read up about problems others are having with this same monitor. There's power to the monitor but I get "nothing" when I try to turn it on using the on/off button. Now I am wondering if it's this switch or one of the other things people have mentioned? Is the on/off switch my problem or what?

thx

Hey there! @kerryA8, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!

I understand you have issues turning on your monitor.

Don't worry I'd like to help you out.

Did you make any changes on your monitor?

Have you tried checking with a different power cable?

Have you tried connecting the monitor to a different PC? Does the monitor power on?

Please try the steps recommended below.

Cycle the power on the monitor as follows:
Turn off the monitor. The power light on the monitor should be off. Leave the computer turned on.
Unplug the power cord.
Wait 5 seconds.
Plug in the power cord.
Press the power button on the monitor to turn on the monitor.
One of two things happens:
The image from the computer displays on the monitor and you can use the computer again. This indicates that the monitor was unable to detect that the computer had awakened from suspend mode. Turn the monitor off when it is not being used or disable suspend mode on the computer. For some computers, updating the BIOS can correct these types of suspend problems.

Refer this article to further troubleshoot display issues.

If the issue still persists after trying out the steps it is a hardware issue with your printer.

Please contact HP support for service options.

I'll keep an eye out for your response.

I hope you have a great day! 🙂
