HPE-180t Power Supply with GTX 260

Hi, I'm wondering if the default power supply is upgraded when you order the HPE-180t with the 1.8GB GTX 260 video card.  If anyone has ordered this configuration, could you let me know if you were shipped the 460 watt power supply or was it upgraded?

Have you had any issues?

Thanks,

Kevin P.

I have one with that configuration, no problems with the power supply and the computer is pretty quiet.  But plenty of other problems...with it!

The 460 watt ps is standard for your model which is the same as my e9280t (HP renamed the model line).

what type of problems?  I haven't received it yet and have plenty of time to not be lazy and build my own 🙂

See my other post going in this forum.  Main problem is with the network card, it doesn't want to connect to the internet.  I also get blue screen crashes when I log off and when HP logs on.  The print spooler crashes a lot as do some of the other services.  It loses all the printers sometimes and I have to reinstall them.  Been going through this for a month now.  When it runs, it's great and if I could only solve the network connection problem, I'd be happy, but no one seems to be able to figure it out.

ah - I see.  The first thing I'll be doing when I get this is formatting and installing a fresh copy of windows 7 anyways - I have a feeling your problem does stem from the software they install.

Kevin, I also wondering about the PSU. It does specify when getting the gtx 260 you will receive an upgraded PSU. Have you received it yet?

I received it with the 460W power supply...  I don't know if it's a different 460w PSU that others got but it is definitely the 460w PSU.

I'm going to call them and complain but so far I haven't had any issues.

Ok, so they tried saying the upgraded PSU is the 460W PSU.  I told him that is BS and the standard is 460W for this model.

He then said ok well our engineers said that 460w is sufficient so thats what you get when you order this PC.  I filed an official complaint with their complaint department and spoke to a supervisor and manager and the end result is you get a 460w PSU and thats it, if you aren't happy with that you can return the PC.

I'm pretty annoyed and will most likeely be returning this PC now.

lol, nevermind - I called up to return the PC and they gave me $150 credit...  I'll be keeping the PC and just pick up a PSU on my own.
