Pavillion 23
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When trying to boot up I get "Hard Disk 1 (SFO)"  for the first time right now. Up until now I got Hard Disk - (3FO).  And boot fails.  This happened on the original hard drive which was replaced and is happening again now for the third time.  When it happened the first time, I opened the back,   removed the drive and put it in another W10 config and it failed to see it. I did a lot of error scanning.  Finally I put it back in the Pavillion 23, and it began working again for about a week. Today, May 16 it happened again, first with the "Hard Disk - (3FO)"  then after trying to be many times I got the new message, "Hard Disk 1 (SFO."

Hi! @tmradius, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand you are you have issues booting into your PC and you are getting hard disk 3F0 error.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes to your PC?

Try restoring the BIOS to default on your PC and check if it helps.

Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
Press F10 to Save and Exit.
Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

If the issue still persists try reseating the hard drive and check if it helps.

Refer this article to further troubleshoot boot device not found error on your PC.

Take care,

Have a great day ahead! 🙂
