Pavilion a340n
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

I'm trying to connect a HP Pavilion a340n to my Sharp Roku TV LC-50LB481U via ONN HDMI to VGA adapter ONA17H0037. The TV detects the HDMI port but won't connect "No signal (is it on?)."

Does anybody have a suggestion or fix? I've tried the troubleshooting steps, unplug, wait, pick my nose, burp, etc.

Thanks

I see from the post that you are trying to connect your HP desktop computer to your Sharp Roku TV and it's not displaying any display. Don't worry I'll try my best to help you with this,

Has it worked in the past or are you trying to set it up for the first time?

I did check the product specifications of the HP Desktop PC and found that there is only one VGA connection, and you are trying to use a converter (VGA - HDMI) analog to digital. I'm afraid this might not work, However, you can check by connecting this TV to another computer which is compatible with DVI or HDMI.

If you want to use this computer and TV, you would need to upgrade the graphics card which is compatible on this PC along with Power supply and compatible converter.

HP Does not recommend any upgrade or downgrade of any internal components, you can do it at your own discretion.

I hope this answers your question, let me know if you need any further assistance. I'll be more than happy to help.
