Product: ProDesk 600 G3
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The prodesk came with a 1TB spinning drive.  I want to add a M.2 512GB SSD to the system as the primary boot / system drive, and leave the 1TB as a secondary drive.  I've installed the drive but I don't see it listed in BIOS, and Windows 10 installation doesn't see it either (although it may need to load a driver and I don't see anything suitable for that in the drivers page for this model).

 

I created a USB windows 10 recovery disk using the cloud recovery creation tool; oddly, there wasn't an entry in that software for the Prodesk 600 G3 SFF; there was for the mini-tower so I picked that.

 

Anything I need to do to make the system see the M.2 drive?

 

It's a Crucial 512GB

HP Recommended

You need either disable ‘Legacy Support’ setting in the BIOS option 'Secure Boot Configuration' or set to 'UEFI Only' in the BIOS option 'Storage Option ROMs'. ( Otherwise you'll see the notification 'Not bootable device' ).
