Hello, I had accidentally set up my HP Envy All-In-One 24-no14 with an email that I don't own out of carelessness to realize that you have to own that email to use it with Microsoft in case you forget your password. In this case, I was trying to sign onto the computer with the email using the Microsoft account password I associated it with. I tried the password many times but it didn't work, and I can't change or reset it because I don't own the actual email account.

Basically, I would like to reset my computer back to factory settings so I could start over and not make the same mistake. I heard that you could press F11 while it's booting up to reset it and follow the instructions from there, but I tried that and it doesn't work...

So some advice would be very helpful and appreciated, thank you.

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

I read your post and wanted to help -- but need more information.

We need to know what OS version you are running on the PC (i.e., Win7, 8x, or 10).

And, if it is Win10, did that come preinstalled on the PC, or did you do the Win10 Upgrade?

And, if you did the Upgrade, what was the prior version of the OS?

We can proceed once you provide the information.

Thanks

Hi,

Thank you for posting. Welcome to the HP Support forum !

To answer your question:

1. Please, shutdown the computer using the power button

2. Power it on.

2.1 As soon as you press the power-on button, immediately begin hitting the Esc button from keyboard (like tap-tap-tap).

This should open a HP Startup Menu which may look similar to this one (in black or blue)

3. Choose/press  F11

4.  Follow the on-screen instructions. Example >> https://youtu.be/vvVv8G1tzGY?t=99

Detailed instructions >> http://www.support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03489643

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.
