Hi,

Your available options are somewhat limited by your motherboard. Your mobo has only two SATA connectors and they are in use by your HDD and your DVD drive.

Option 1: purchase an IDE DVD burner and install it. Connection; use the IDE connector on the motherboard (which is currently unused). Here is a link that has a diagram of your motherboard.

Option 2: purchase and external DVD burner with a USB connection. Heads up! these are pretty slow even if you have a USB 2.0 connection to use.

William...

Here are the specs for your HP Pavilion p6210y Desktop Computer and it's M2N78-LA (Violet) motherboard. According to the specs, your computer has 4 SATA ports. Purchase a SATA CD/DVD drive and use this HP document entitled "Adding or Replacing a CD or DVD Drive" as a guide to installing your new drive.
