How to perform a system recovery on a desktop with windows 8.

HP Recommended

A system recovery is a procedure that takes your system back to factory settings.

All programs and information that have been installed after the purchase of the system will be removed.

If your system was not originally installed with Windows 8, the recovery process will take the system back to the operating system that was originally installed.

If there are any files on your system that you would like to save during this process you will be given the option to back up your information.

A system recovery is one of the last steps that you would want to take; before a recovery is performed a refresh should be considered.

A refresh will keep all data, settings and apps but will delete  programs that you have installed. Programs purphased from the Mirosoft store will also be saved.

Here is a link to a document that explains a refresh and the procedures.

Here is a short video that will walk you through the steps of the recovery.
