I cannot access the Q: drive on my PC

I have an HP Pavilion p6516f with WIndows 7. I believe it came with three internal drive letters C:, D:, and Q:. Whenever I've tried to access the Q: drive, I get a popup box titled "Location is not available" and the message "Q:\ is not accessible - Access is denied.

Why can't it be accessed? Is this inaccessible Q: drive normal on HP's? Or might this indicate a problem?

Lately I am having some instability on my PC, which is why I ask.

Thanks

Re: I cannot access the Q: drive on my PC

Depending on the software installed, it could be a "Virtual drive".  Try looking in Computer Management and then "Storage" to see if the drive is really a phsical drive.
