Hi @EmmyMaupin,

Thank you for showing your interest in HP Support Forums. I see from the post that you are having a purple stripe on the left side on your HP PC. Don't worry we'll work together to find a solution for you.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Could you provide me with the Product number and the Operating system installed on the PC? (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...) http://hp.care/2bygf7l

In the meantime, let's start off by performing a Hard reset on the PC with all the cables disconnected.

Next thing, I would suggest here is to boot the computer into the Bios screen(F10) and check if the purple stripe on the left side is present or not, If the purple stripe is present even in the Bios, I would suggest this could be a hardware failure.

Once you press the power button start tapping Esc key until you see the startup menu - on the startup menu - press the F10 key to enter into the Bios screen.

If the screen is fine, then I would suggest this could be a driver issue, I would suggest you update the Bios, Chipset drivers and Graphics card drivers from our HP support website, using this link.

Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.

Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.

Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you.
