@Mjfinsurance, welcome to the forum.

Here are the processors that have been fully tested to be compatible with the motherboard:

Processor
Must select one of the following options:
Pentium G620 (Sandy Bridge), 2.6 GHz, 65W
Pentium G840 (Sandy Bridge), 2.8 GHz, 65W
Pentium G850 (Sandy Bridge), 2.9 GHz, 65W
Core i3-2100 (Sandy Bridge), 3.1 GHz,   65W
Core i3-2105 (Sandy Bridge), 3.1 GHz,   65W
Core i3-2120 (Sandy Bridge), 3.3 GHz,   65W

Here is the memory that has been tested:

Memory
Must select one of the following options:
3 GB (1 x 2 GB, 1 x 1 GB) DDR3 PC3-10600 (Messaged as PC3-8500 on Pentium G6xx processors)
4 GB (1 x 4 GB) or (2 x 2), DDR3 PC3-10600 (Messaged as PC3-8500 on Pentium G6xx processors)
6 GB (1 x 4 GB, 1 x 2 GB) DDR3 PC3-10600 (Messaged as PC3-8500 on Pentium G6xx processors)
8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3 PC3-10600 (Messaged as PC3-8500 on Pentium G6xx processors)

Here are the hard drives that have been tested:

Hard Drive
Must select one of the following options:
500 GB 7200 rpm SATA 3G (3.0 Gb/sec)
750 GB 7200 rpm SATA 3G (3.0 Gb/sec)
1 TB 7200 rpm SATA 3G (     3.0 Gb/sec)
1.5 TB 5400 rpm SATA 3G  (3.0 Gb/sec)
1.5 TB 7200 rpm SATA 3G ( 3.0 Gb/sec)
2 TB 5400 rpm SATA 3G      (3.0 Gb/sec)
2 TB 7200 rpm SATA 3G      (3.0 Gb/sec)

I wasn't certain which you were wanting to changes, the hard drive or the memory.  So, I gave you all of the information.  You talked about 1 to 2 TB.  This would be hard drive.  The highest version of processor that you can use is an i3.

Hi,

The following link shows its specs:

     http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c03059221

1. It supports 2TB SATA II (or SATA 3G) HDD's but you can use more popular SATA III now because it is backward compatible.

Please note: you can use any current brand but to avoid compatible surprise, please use the same brand with the existing brand.

2. The above link also shows you a list of CPU's supported.

Regards.

My system is very slow so trying to figure out what's the best solution to run multiple programs. My system obviously is lacking somewhere.
