IR receiver - factory unplugged

Long story short, I found out that IR receiver didn't work on my Pavilion Elite media center PC, spent whole day search for answer without luck...also tried all the possible software, eHome Infrared Receiver showed under device manager, driver is good, remote control is good, but IR receiver was dumb without any blink or flash. Finally, I decided to open PC case to take a look................................................................. then WTH !!!  A wire was unplugged to 15-in-1 memory card reader with build-in IR receiver that was located at corner and connot be seen without a flashlight.

It was a 8-pin connector unplugged when left factory.

The wire is connected to remote sensor adapter.

After connected, IR receiver went alive.

There are some people having same problem without solution, hope this helps.

ps. need to fix pics, so I repost.
