Pavilion 24-a251d AIO PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I have just bought a HP Pavilion 24-a251d all in one desktop PC, installed with 1TB 7200rpm HDD. Specs says it has a M.2 expansion slot on the Intel H170 motherboard. I would like to be able to install an SSD & use it as the boot drive & for application softwares. And if possible to leave the existing HDD and use it as a storage / back up drive. Can the 1 m.2 slot accommodate a m.2 SSD (256GB)? If possible, how to transfer / clone the existing HDD to SSD & make it the SSD the boot drive? I would appreciate any guru's help.

Welcome to HP Support Forum. No, it does not have spare M.2 slot for M.2 SSD. It ONLY has one M.2 slot for wireless cars (WLAN) which is occupied by a wireless card already

Hi Cardhu

I am looking at the motherboard specifications HP provides to see what is happening on your motherboard. Please see here.

I can't find the typical M.2 slot and corresponing set screws for available M.2 form factors found on other motherboards. Maybe you can see it.

You should contact HP Support about this.

I did not see an M.2 SSD listed here as a storage/boot device option. The specs show an M.2 slot for an SSD but I can't see it.

The BIOS on your PC must also have options to boot to an M.2 PCIe 3x4 or SATA storage drive.
