I have a 1TB ST31000528AS (SATA2) internal hard drive and would like to add another either a 1TB ST31000524AS (SATA 3) or 2TB ST2000DL003 (SATA3).
Would the SATA 3 work on this motherboard? I don't mind the SATA 3 (6gb/sec) speed being the SATA 2(3gb/sec) speed as long as they will work.
I am leaning towards the 2TB as the extras cost is mininal compared to the 1TB.

You have a newer PC so I wouldn't foresee a problem using a 2GB hard drive.

SATA III hard drives are backwards compatible with SATA II but the speed will be limited to SATA II. You will not see any appreciable performance improvement.
Do a google search m (problems and issues) on the hard drive model and make sure that you are comfortable with your hard drive choice.
Please identify your notebook/pc with more than the series number.
Look at the base/rear/side of the notebook/pc at the barcoded sticker.
Post items numbered 1 and 2 on the following image. Your barcode may be slightly different but will still have the important imformation needed for us to help you.
