Item in system memory of HP150-t desktop failed diagnostic test (Modulo 20 test failed)

Hardware diagnost test showed failure "Modulo 20" error code ME516-8W.  This is in one of the two  2GB SDRAM memories.

Should I replace one or both?

Re: Item in system memory of HP150-t desktop failed diagnostic test (Modulo 20 test failed)

Hi,

Unless you buy the replacement dimm from HP, I would suggest you replace both dimms as HP motherboards have been known to be finicky with mixing dimms.

I am recommending that you try the memory tools from these manufacturers: Corsair, Kingston and Crucial.  Buying directly from a manufacturer normally guarantees compatibility as the manufacturer will stand behind the product.
