Keyboard problems

I have a HP Pavillion g6. The keyboard switches the letters. The letter Q is now the letter A , the letter Z is now the letter W, etc. Not all keys are this way. the numbers and characters no longer correspond to the actual key. I used to be able to shut down and the problem would resolve itsself. I have had this problem since day one but now I can't seem to reset.

Keyboard problems

Hi,

It sounds like the incorrect keyboard layout has been set in Windows - ie AZERTY layout for a QWERTY keyboard or vice versa - you can select the correct layout for your keyboard as shown in the video below.

Regards,

Keyboard problems

That might work if I could get into my computer. Password does not work since my numbers and characters are all misplaced. I type quite fast and if I should hit a certain key not sure which it changes the keyboard letters. There is an fn key. Very close to shift and control keys. I think that is where I screw up when typing. Does anyone know What that is and what it does? Thanks so much!

Hi,

At the log on screen, click the Ease Of Access icon in the bottom right corner, select On-Screen Keyboard and enter your password using this.

Normally, if there's more than one input setting available, the combination ctrl Shift should toggle input methods.
