Liquid cooled desktop/maintanence?

HP ENVY Phoenix h9-1320t
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Desktop seems to be winding up a lot, not sure if it is a fan or cpu or what it is? Does a desktop liquid cooled need any maintainance? I have an I7 with 12 gigs of ram, sometimes depending on what I am doing it something seems to be really winding up (whirling in the computer)

It in a well ventilated area, I had cleaned the fans once before and things seem clean?

Is there a hp option that will tells me the core temp and the video card temp? Nvidia use to have one but for the last few years they seem to have left that option out? thanks Bruce

@brucefl, welcome back to the forum.

Here is the Troubleshooting and Maintenance Guide for the computer.  Read through it to see if it helps you.  There are third party apps that will help you watch the temps.  Here is one that I just downloaded and it seems to be very good:

http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmonitor/hwmonitor_1.29.exe

It has a lot of other information for you, also.

Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

Liquid cooled desktop/maintanence?

Here is what I get on temps. I am assuming a heat problem? Though this isn't under a lot of load.

                                              Value         Min             Max

Tempertures TMPIN0  34c (93)   33c (91)   34 c (93)

Temps core all 4 fluxate 27 c - to 91 c    min is25-29 max is 43-46

air flow says 31  min 30 max 31

NVIDIa shows 50 c min is 50 max 56

Shows 2 fans one 1320-1350rpb min 1320 max 1890 which is Fanin0

Fanpwnm 20% 20 min, 29 max

utilizations memory says 8% min 7 and max 9

Thank you for the additional information, @brucefl

I checked your temps against my x2 1012 G1 laptop.  They are almost exactly the same.  The laptop is only a 13" and very thin.  So, with the airflow that you are getting in a larger case, the temps don't appear to be out of line.

I suggest that you do some cable management to see if you can improve the airflow even more.  If the inside of your case is like my Phoenix, it is full.

miss CPU FANs.

37%    37  38  CPU

20        20  38  FAn  1

49       49   49    Fan 2

100    100 100   Fan 3

would this looks suspicious?

The Fan 3 speed definitely looks suspicious.  Can you determine which is Fan 3?  I suggest watching it for awhile to see if it stays there for a long period of time.; especially if you are not doing anything that will cause heat.  The other fans seem to be fine.  The fans should vary in speed while you are performing tasks.

Liquid cooled desktop/maintanence?

FANS PWM

CPU

FAN 1

FAN 2

FAN 3

When I first looked this moring min val and max were all teh same.

one has dropped, while the others are constant.

I actually  do not see 3 fans, other than power, video and the Cooling fan for the mb?

Then I have a separate one that list fansin0 and in1

These are all listed under the mb

I wonder if I should check for a discussion board on the Pegatron corp. Or if the CPU fan may be a problem?

Appreciate the help

Bruce

Thank you for the additional information, @brucefl

I don't know if the Pegatron Forum would do you any good because HP has their motherboards make to their specs.  Therefore, they are not the same as the retail versions.  I suggest simply using the app that I provided to monitor the temps to assure that they stay in the normal range.

As for your original concerns, I have not seen any instructions for liquid cooling maintenance.  I have a newer Phoenix 860-170vr with liquid cooling and have had no problems with it.

Liquid cooled desktop/maintanence?

According to what I am watching the fans PWM are all running at the max. And the tempertures listed under the board run at max. Unfortunately there are no forums under Pegatron.

I am assuming that the MB Fans should not be running at the max?

Not having much luck in finding how to replace the water cooled fan yet on HP's site for this model. Seems I find others 🙂

Appreciate the help

Bruce

You are welcome, @brucefl.

Unfortunately, HP is not in the business of helping owners upgrade their computers.  You will have to find help from some other source.
