Solved!

Looking for missing drivers after downgrade

HP Recommended

I downgraded a new HP Envy 700-030qe CTO from Windows 8 to Windows 7.

First question: Is there somewhere that I can get ALL of the compatible drivers for this machine on Win7?  I'm pretty sure that HP was selling this exact (or almost exact) machine a couple months ago with Win 7 on it?  If someone can tell me that model number then I could order the recovery disk for it, hopefully.  I have a legal copy of Win7 with licence key, all I need is the disk to recover to Win7.  Even if it isn't exact, it would be closer than looking for a bunch of missing drivers one by one.

Second question:

I was able to find most of the drivers except for something that shows up as a USB controller (although most of the USB ports seem to be working, maybe all of them).  Any idea what HP drivers to try for this:

USB CONTROLLER - Hardware IDs

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C31&SUBSYS_2AF3103C&REV_04

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C31&SUBSYS_2AF3103C

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C31&CC_0C0330

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C31&CC_0C03

Any pointers are greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Hi:

You need this USB driver.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=3467&DwnldID=22824&keyword=Intel+Usb+...

There are no models with the motherboard in your PC that have W7 drivers.

Even if there were, the recovery disks from one of those models would not work on yours.

W7 drivers you need:

Install the chipset driver first and reboot.

Wired network.  Download and install the 4th driver on the list.

I am helping a friend with the same situation, and it looks like you have the solution.  The problem I am having is that the link you have for the graphics drivers does not work.  Can you help with that?

Hi:

This should be the link you need for the Intel onboard W7 x64 graphics driver for that model.

Happy New Year.  I have one more question.  For the wired network link, you indicate to install the 4th driver on the list.  The 4th driver is listed as Windows 8, but the second driver is listed as Windows 7.  Has the list possibly changed, or am I really supposed to use thw Wndows 8 driver?  I just want to be sure I know what I should be doing.

Hi:

It appears that Realtek rearranged the drivers since I posted them.

You now need the second file on the list.

Can you please let me know if that audio driver I posted worked for you?

Happy New Year!
