Thanks for your reply dmhoo29 , I have read that it is hidden in amongst a M.S update and is not liked too much as it can cause various problems.
So my question is now "how do I delete it"

Install it... then uninstall through add/remove programs.
Please post rather than send me a message. It's good for the community and I might not be able to get back quickly. - Thank you.

Upon start up a message box appears stating "This application has failed to start because uncdms.dll was not found.Reinstalling the application may fix the problem" . Anyone have an idea what application this could be please ??Message Edited by jacrobab on 04-25-2009 03:17 PM

As you can see earlier in the thread the uncdms.dll file is related to the Windows Desktop Search.
1. Uninstall the program through add / remove programs
2. Reboot your computer
3. Reinstall if you have a desire to continue using it
That's the generalized version of the issue. If you provide information such as what make / model your computer is and what operating system you are running I may be able to provide additional information, however the steps remain true for Vista and XP. Windows 7 has the search ability built in and is not a stand alone download as far as I know.
