Monitor Compatible?

I am new to the forum and also not very computer literate, so please excuse my ignorance.  I just purchased an Ispiron 530S, and I have a 23 inch monitor which I am having issues with.  The montior has been flicking on and off and I double checked that everything was plugged in.  Would a HP monitor be compatible with my computer, because I make my living working from home and the monitor continues to give me problems.

HP monitors should be compatible with any computer that has the correct connectors.  Simply determine the type of connector, DVI, VGA, that is on your computer and buy the monitor accordingly.  Also, most monitors do come with adapters to allow for DVI to VGA and vice versa.
