Monitor will not come on

I have an HP Compaq desktop. I switched the PC to an older monitor to see if it was working. The older monitor came on and then I connected the original monitor back to the PC . But now the monitor will not come on. Something happened during the switch. Now none of the monitors will not come on. The yellow light comes on the monitor but will not turn green. I opened the PC but it does not have a seperate video card. The monitor card seems to be attached to the motherboard. Any suggestions. My desktop model is HP Compaq dc5000.

Re: Monitor will not come on

You have a business PC and this is the consumer forum. HP actually has a separate forum for your PC:

If you see the initial setup screens but then goes blank, press F8 to enter Windows startup options and startup to VGA mode so that you change the display res to a compatible version. If you see nothing at all, you may need ot reset your BIOS (and I do not know what the key presses would be and you'll probably need to do them "blind".

I am an HP employee expressing my own opinion.
Please post rather than send me a message. It's good for the community and I might not be able to get back quickly. - Thank you.
