I just bought a HP Pavilion dm4-1165 and the mouse pad doesn't work. According to the instructions this pad comes turned on. Also, when I double touch the pad in the upper left corner to turn on/off, nothing happens. Any ideas or should I take it back since it's just 2 days old?

Have you checked the touch pad is recognised as being on? If it is ON, the touchpad light indicator should be OFF. Not totally sure on the layout of this specific laptop, but try double-tapping the touchpad indicator to 'unlock' the touchpad. If you've already done this, you might want to take it to a computer specialist for a once-over - it'll most likely be a simple fault.

If the Touch Pad light is OFF, then this Touch Pad is ENABLED (set to work). If the Touch Pad light is ON,then
this Touch Pad is DISABLED (set to rest). You can find more information about this HP product by going
to our website: www.hp.com/support. Please chose you country and your language using the dropdown provided
in the upper right hand side of the webpage. Click on SUPPORT & DRIVERS. Click on the button beside "See Support
and Troubleshooting Information".Then input your PRODUCT NUMBER, usually found in your original documentations (papers) or from a paper sticker with an HP logo usually attached to your product. Click the "GO" button, and you will be directed to a page that tells almost everything about your product. Please let me know if you have other problems and you need more help.

Hello, I recently got a refurbished HP dm4-1160us from my grandfather. When I got it today, I began the HP setup. Unfortunately, the mousepad will not turn on no matter what I do. I have tried double clicking the on/off button, but the light remains off. I did not find anything to help this when I looked on the support page. Can anyone help me please?
