My HP s3400f will not recognize my WD Passport

I have tried every USB port and all options in device manager and it still shows up as unknown device.  I have been to both the HP and WD sites and cannot find an answer and am about ready to throw in the trash.

Thank you for the assistance!

Re: My HP s3400f will not recognize my WD Passport

Does the HP see any other USB drive, such as a USB Key/thumb drive?

Does the WD drive work on any other PC?

I've got a couple of Passports - have used them on a number of HP PCs.
