My PC keeps asking for a "status" disk. What is it?

[ Edited ]

HP Pavillion model: s5213w, Prod. #: NY646AA#ABA, SN: {Removed for privacy}  Using: Windows 7 64-bit

"The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-Rom or ther removable disk that is not available.  Insert the "Status" disk & click OK.

Also" An installation package for the produck Status cannot be found.  Try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package "status.msi"

What does all this mean & how can I fix this?

Re: My PC keeps asking for a "status" disk. What is it?

It would seem to be a printer software problem.  See this: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Software/Update-failed-looking-for-Status-msi/td-p/77525

Hope that helps.
