HP Envy 700-074
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

I have been using my Sony Bravia 4KUltra HD as my monitor for a couple of years now. I recently moved the TV and desktop to another room and now nothing. I connected it exactly as before. But the TV says it is not receiving a signal. I've checked to see if there was a problem with wireless mouse or keyboard. These appear to be working properly. The cable is a VGA to HDMI connection. And since this is the only monitor available to me presently, I can't even troubleshoot very well. Any ideas?

Greetings @Kuya_AJ

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.

I understand that you are not getting any display on your TV after relocating the computer and the TV.

Not to worry, I will be glad to help.

Have you checked the source on your TV?

Please make sure the TV is connected to the correct port on the back of your desktop.

Test the cable, if possible.

Without any display, it is very hard to isolate the issue.

May sure the correct HDMI input source is selected on your TV.

Do you hear your computer running or get any blinking lights on your computer?

For other troubleshooting, please refer to this HP Article for assistance.

Let me know how it goes.

Thank you for your advice. As it turns out, in the move I hard closed the computer too many times which caused the boot file to become corrupted. Because I couldn't see the diagnostic screen, I didn't realize what was happening. It's now in the shop with a tech trying to fix the boot file or, if he can't do that, save the data and reimage the computer. Thanks again.

Thanks for the reply, please keep me posted if you need any assistance. If you have not created a recovery kit on your computer to reimage the hard drive, please contact our phone support to order one.

Keep me posted.
