I usually don't see poorly seated heatsink with HP desktops.  Still doesn't hurt to check CPU temp by downloading Speedfan.  Anything below 55C is acceptable.  If you see the CPU temp above 60C, then you need to clean the CPU and heatsink, then apply a thin layer of thermal paste to both surfaces.
