Need drivers and software for a HP TouchSmart All-in-One 9300

HP Recommended
HP TouchSmart All-in-One
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I had to reinstall Windows 8.1 on a computer gifted to me by my late friend.  I can not find anything from HP or Intel that says it is compatible with my platform. It worked when I got it so there were drivers and software that worked previously. I have tried the regular HP site and anything I tried to install said it was not compatible. The Commercial HP site says the serial number not found.  I tried Intel's website and they say to download them from HP.

HP TouchSmart All-in-One 9300

Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit

Any help greatly appreciated...

Hi:

HP does not support that model for any operating system beyond W7.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to try the W7 64 bit drivers.

http://h20566.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=5220836&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=4059

Try manually installing the drivers when the auto install method doesn't work.

To manually install a driver, after you run the driver file (sp#####), go to the device manager, click on the device needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp#####, where ##### is the file number of the driver file.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and see if the drivers install that way.

Post back with any devices you can't find drivers for with the hardware ID's for each device you need the driver for.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID...

I tried that and get the same error message that the files are not compatible with my computer. or that it doesn't find any drivers. Windows installed some drivers but they are not usually the best for the hardware. Drivers from the manufacturer are usually recommended. Intel's site said to use HP drivers because they may be different than Intel's drivers.

Then the only other suggestion I can offer would be to install W7.

If you live in the USA/Canada, you can call HP at this number, 1-800-334-5144  and order a set of W7 recovery disks.

If the PC still has a W7 product key and you can read all 25 characters of the product key...

An alternate option would be...This site claims to have genuine, unadulterated W7 ISO files for download...

https://www.heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft/67-microsoft-windows-iso-download-tool

Click on the link labeled Windows ISO Downloader.exe

You can use either the:

Win 7 Home/Pro SP1 (as applicable to the key) or the (Retail version, but the  OEM key on your PC's case will work with it)

Win 7 Home/Pro SP1 COEM (as applicable to the key) (This version would be for what HP would have used--System Builder)

N is for European Union (EU) countries.

K is for South Korean markets.

Then you can use this tool to transfer the file to a 4 GB USB flash drive or a DVD.
