HP 2311x

I have an HP2311x monitor. I use it hooked directly to my computer via DVI and it works fine. I aam trying to hook up a Samsung Blu-Ray player to the monitor via the HDMI in put. I have run a cable from the HDMI out on the player directly to the HDMI in on the Monitor, but I get a no signal message on the monitor. I have tried using a different HDMI cable and unplugging and ressetting the monitor, but I still get the no signal meaasage. How can I solve this/

As I understand you are having no input signal while connecting using HDMI on your HP Monitor. Don't worry as I have a few steps to help you get through this concern,

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Does your monitor have an internal speaker?

Have you tried with a different HDMI cable?

Have you tried connecting the TV to an alternate device and check if that works?

Have you tried connecting the Monitor to a different product such as PlayStation or Xbox and check if it works?

You should be able to directly connect the HDMI port on the back of the Blu-ray player to the HDMI port on the monitor. In most cases, connecting your Blu-ray player to your computer won't work, because older video cards don't includeHDCP support on the VGA connection. HDCP is a content protection feature that works when all components, including the player and monitor, are able to decode the connected signal.

Connecting your Blu-ray player to your monitor is that you may need some kind of external speaker connection also. If your monitor doesn't include a speaker or headphone jack, you will need to connect the audio from the back of the Blu-ray player to some external speakers in order to hear audio from the Blu-ray player.

Please respond to this post with the details for further assistance.

Hello, Jeet,

My monitor does not have internal spealers.

I have tried more than one HDMI cable.

The monitor does work with other devices.

Any thoughts on what I can do from here?

Hi @Doc_Moonlight,

Thank you for replying,

I appreciate your time and efforts,

As I understand the monitor works fine with other devices, this definitely suggests that it's not an issue with HDMI cable or the monitor. I would suggest you try this Samsung blue ray player on a TV and check if that works. If the issue persists, I would suggest you contact their tech support for further assistance.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you need any further assistance.
