OS Recovery-HP Recovery Manager

HP Recommended

Recovery Manager is useful for all sorts of tasks- reinstalling individual drivers/software or even doing a complete reinstall of your Operating System. You can also make  Recovery Media to boot from and reinstall back to Factory specs -even on a new hard drive.

Backup of personal files before doing a Recovery is important.Do not solely depend on the included feature to backup files during a Recovery of OS unless you have no choice such as in case of a non-booting machine.

I have a Pavilian Elite HPE. The harddrive was in  a form of failure and I managed to get a backup using HP recovery manager before it totally died using the File Backup Program where it backed up 210 GB of my peronal data. I have since recovered my system using a repair disk and now want to restore my data but there is no option in recovery manager to restore just the data. Can you advise the steps to recovcer the data.

Looking to find another way to obtain recovery discs for my Compaq Presario sr1303wm (pp150aa).  I know this is out of warrantee, but I am in need of these discs as I have had to replace the hard drive; nothing on the original hard drive was recoverable.

I would honestly like a link to be able to download the discs as ISO files so I can repair my friend's spare computer.  This was his tried-and-true workhorse until it's hard drive quit.

Please help.  I work with the elderly, veterans and the disabled.  Being able to keep their computers running a few more years is all they really need.

Thank you for your time.

HP support appears to leave a lot to be desired. Ordered recovery discs for crashed hard drive. Spent extra to get them overnight. 2 days later no discs. Called HP support and they cannot find a record of the order. But, the charge is on my credit care. I did not save the order verificaiton number so my fault there. BUT, no email after the order, which I expected to have the order number. So, I call HP to see what happened. They can find NO record of the order. Spent at least 30 minutes with support and had to tell them 4 times that I did not have the order number. They tried to cross reference the order with my name and phone number but no luck. So, I reordered and saved the order verification number this time. Paid extra again to get the shipment faster. Overnight is now 4 days due to the weekend even with the extra charges. Link was shown for tracking the order. So, checked the link the next day and their system cannot find my order even with the order number and my email address that it asked for. Tried again using the order number and the serial number of my computer which is a search option. Still no luck. The HP system cannot find the order?  Is it any wonder that HP seems to be losing the tech game?  When their systems cannot even send an email after an order or find an order using the order number there is definately something wrong. This is terrible for a tech company. Amazon does a FAR better job at this than HP. Keeping my fingers crossed that I get a recovery set soon and don't have to call HP support again.

IF your lucky. I am on my second attempt since Feb 27. They have no record of my first order even though it shows a charge on my credit card.

The two Vista links don't work.  They go to a page that says "bad request."!!!!!!!!!

NONE of the links work.  They all go to a page saying "bad request."  I'm using Firefox browser.  Do the links work only with a certain browser?  What's going on?  Is this just another attempt by hp to drive their customers crazy when they try to get help?  I've been trying to get my useless presario desktop going again for two weeks!  I don't think i've ever done anything more frustrating.
