PC gets power but won't start

HP Pavilion Elite m9510f PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have checked the power cord. I have pluged the power cord into a different socket. The green light on th back of the computer is lit. The power to our house went out twice this morning.

PC gets power but won't start

Hello, @ AceSurveyor - Greetings!

Thanks for accessing the HP Support Forums for extra support! I see that you are unable to power on your PC. I will do my best to assist you with this issue 🙂

Let’s follow these steps:

  1. With the power off, disconnect the power cord from the back of the computer.
  2. With the power off and the power cord disconnected, press the power button on the computer for 10 seconds. The power light indicator on or near the power button might turn on briefly but then go out.
  3. Reconnect the power cord directly without any surge protectors and turn on the power.

Let me know if that helps!

Cheers 🙂

I tried those steps. I ended up taking my computer to Fry's. They deeper mined that the issue was the power supply.
