PC - lights up and freezes on start up

HP ENVY Phoenix h9-1335ea
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Help,

 

Turn on PC,

Fan LEDs light up...............

then..........nothing.

 

no beeps, no spining of disks......nothing...

 

Tried booting up from usb, disc etc..no joy.

Machine is getting power but completly dead.

 

All started when pc ran auto updates to Win 10 during a shut down sequence!!!

 

Any help or ideas please

Hi there @rajetch,

 

Welcome back to the HP Support Forums!  I understand that your computer is not starting properly after a Windows 10 update went through.  I am happy to give you a hand with this.

 

If it occurred right after an update, you could try and see if you can do a System Restore to before the update. Also see these two documents, the second one is a short interactive troubleshooter from Microsoft for this issue.

PC - lights up and freezes on start up

Hi Malygris1,

 

Can't do any of the suggested as the computer freezes on startup.  Can't even get into the bios or anything.

 

Sequence

 

Turn PC on

Red lights on fan light up

Fan spins

Then........................nothing..and I mean nothing

no lights on the keyboard of mouse...nothing....

OK.  If you are unable to get into the recovery environment, or boot from an OS disk or recovery media, or get into the BIOS at all, then I think you should use the following http://www.hp.com/contacthp, fill out the form, create a case for your issue and then use the provided information to contact HP Phone Support.
