Pavilion 500-281 windows upgrade

Pavilion 500-281
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Upgraded to Windows 10 last week and now I find that my Computer cannot access the Internal CD ROM drive.  I have downloaded the latest drivers from HP but still I cannot access the CD drive.  I connected my Pavilion 500-281 to an old HP destop computer via the USB port and I could access the CD Drive on the old computer, but not the internal CD Drive on my current computer.  Has anyone encountered this problem and what is the best fix?

Thankis for the responses.  I did go through the referenced Microsoft Checklist step by step with a Microsoft Support Tech and it did not solve the problem.  The 2 hours we worked on this problem included reloading the Driver from the HP webiste and changing the Registry.  I am tryinng to access my CD Drive and not a DVD.  I get an indication that the CD Drive is there but it never successfully reads any inserted disc.
