Hello

Checked HP Support for your PC but it is in retired support status.

One long beep that repeats is not very good.

Please see this HP Support site for common BIOS error codes. Could not find an exact match but a one beep pattern for PC' s made before 2010 shows Memory Timing Error or continuous beeping means serious system problem.

You have to try different components such as start with a different memory stick or try existing stick in different RAM slot.

The motherboard could be bad or the power supply could be failing.

Could it possibly be that the battery on the motherboard is dead?

Hello

Yes, if you have never replaced motherboard battery, that would be the first component to replace.

That would be an easy fix.
